Learning math can be a tough mission for some kids and even good math students can have a hard time with certain parts of math. Since Math builds on itself in each lesson, it is easy for any student to fall behind quickly if they don’t understand something. Hiring a math tutor can be a solution to fill the gap in your children’s education and support them to reach their academic goals and succeed in the hardest courses. To reach that, we assess our students and create a learning plan that matches their learning style and focus on their weaknesses to help them to achieve remarkable progress. Our service can be online and in-home tutoring, at a convenient time, to help students fill gaps in their knowledge base.

The Tutoring Process 

The teachers of NFS will start with a free consultation to understand where your child is and where she/he has to be. This assessment will detect their current needs, and give us the chance to meet them where they are and take them where they need to go. This assessment also covers questions to determine the best learning methods that can be used with the student to help us tailor an approach that matches our student’s interests. We also customize the learning plan based on the concepts the student needs to master and use a combination of innovative content and instruction techniques to ensure our students are mastering these concepts. Our experienced tutors will implement the learning plan and work with each student to ensure they master the material.  On a monthly basis, Our instructors will also share how our students did and what they will continue working on to upgrade their knowledge and achieve remarkable progress. Constant assessments are implemented to ensure progress and skill retention.

What we do

In NFS, we help students to have a better understanding of math by simplifying the concepts and principles and tailoring a customized learning plan to provide better suited for each individual learner, with their own unique learning style, background, needs, and previous experiences. We teach general math and any of the fields within mathematics such as algebra, geometry, statistics, and calculus. We help our students to build a math foundation, master computation, and problem-solving with whole and rational numbers, and understand number sense. We also provide content that is relevant, engaging, and memorable to support them in learning “the how and why” (algebra readiness) while helping them with homework and filling in gaps needed for advanced classes. We don’t like to overwhelm our students with more loads of homework, but we evaluate their abilities to solve problems through frequent assessments and quizzes to help to solidify their understanding of concepts that are being covered in their current classwork.  At the same time, we build confidence and help families see measurable progress.
